2017 Drill Competition

The Saviours’ Day Drill Competition is one of the highlights of the Nation of Islam’s convention weekend. It is the culmination of weeks and months of hard work and sacrifice. It’s the culmination of youth and adults who focused their time and attention on cadences, calls and the culture of the Nation of Islam.

Each year teams compete in five categories M.G.T. (women), Jr. M.G.T. (girls under 16), M.G.T. Vanguard (young women 16-36), Jr. F.O.I. (boys under 16) and F.O.I. (men). It is a thrilling event with a three minute presentation by each team that never ceases to amaze. Teams were judged on precision, uniformity, military posture, creativity, the degree of difficulty of the routine and the skill of the drill instructor.
