The Movement For Reparations Minister Farrakhan was the keynote speaker at the reparations forum as a part of the Millions for Reparations Rally in Washington, DC. The activities scheduled to coincide with the anniversary of birth of The Honorable Marcus Garvey. Minister Farrakhan pointed out the fact that not only have others received reparations for their suffering, but also the U.S. courts are considering filing lawsuits seeking financial compensation for those who lost loved ones in the September 11th attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon. He asked “What restitution has been made for those who died in the Middle Passage and those that continue to die in the streets of America?” Rep. John Conyers Jr. Conrad Worrill of the National Black United Front are on the forefront of the reparations movement, and were among the organizers and participants of the weekends activities. |
